Place des Arts | Don Giovanni, le chef d'œuvre de Mozart | OSM

In Don Giovanni, Mozart and Da Ponte explore the legend of Don Juan through a constant interplay of light and shadow: the seducer’s irresistible charm mingles with a growing unease that culminates in his final damnation. This tension between comedy and tragedy, so characteristic of the work, reveals a profoundly human vision, enriched by symbols and ideals dear to the composer. In this concert version conducted by Rafael Payare, the dramatic structure emerges with striking clarity: every contrast, every twist and every orchestral flourish underscores the headlong flight of a hero swept away by his own excess. Through seduction, moral vertigo and flashes of expressive brilliance, Don Giovanni remains a fascinating mirror of our contradictions.
