Le concerto de Sibelius & Le Lac des cygnes

From the first stirrings of a spring to the fairy-tale brilliance of an enchanted lake, this matinée concert follows an imaginative aquatic journey. Smetana’s The Moldau opens the way: a river emerges, winds its course and swells as the orchestra shimmers with colours evoking forests, villages and swift currents. At the heart of the journey, Sibelius’s Violin Concerto surges like an inner torrent, with Andrew Wan unfolding a solitary, passionate lyricism shaped by silences and surges of energy. The journey concludes with Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Suite, sparkling with orchestral brilliance. The river becomes a lake: a place of magic, dance and light.
