Returning to Théâtre du Marais for a second consecutive year with some new works, Karen Young welcomes her daughter Coral Egan, soprano Angèle Trudeau, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Bain, altos Linda Morrison and Annie Poulain, harpist Éveline Grégoire-Rousseau and double bassist Normand Guilbeault. Lux Hodie, a women’s choir directed by Karen Young, presents sacred and Nativity songs from various traditions. These Christmas songs, many anonymous and reworked over the centuries, tell the familiar stories of the Virgin Mary, the shepherds and the wise men following the star to Bethlehem. Karen has rearranged them for six women’s voices. An invitation to rest in the light during the Christmas celebrations, in a gentle, heartfelt performance.
