Maître Griboux, a grumpy, solitary old wolf from the Laurentians, has nothing left to eat. Hungry, he heads down to the village on Christmas Eve, drawn by the church lights. During midnight mass, he approaches the nativity scene and tries to take a bite out of baby Jesus… made of wax! But the priest intervenes just in time, and the wolf becomes everyone’s friend. In Le Loup de Noël, Edgar Bori tells this tale by Claude Aubry, transporting audiences to a bygone Quebec where midnight mass and the réveillon feast were at the heart of Christmas celebrations. Projected onto a tulle screen, Pierre Pratt’s illustrations come to life, evoking the magic of Christmases past. Bon Débarras accompanies the story with reels, lilting vocal tunes and songs. It all culminates in a festive réveillon that will have young and old singing and dancing!
