PEI Symphony Orchestra Presents: Revolution

The PEI Symphony Orchestra presents a concert exploring the theme of revolution. The program opens with Maritimer Emily Doolittle’s “Falling Still,” a gentle exploration of sounds from natural processes, followed by Franz Liszt’s dark yet triumphant “A Hero’s Funeral,” a tale of heroism against terrible odds. The concert closes with Dmitri Shostakovich’s towering Symphony No. 11, “The Year 1905,” recounting the story of a people fed up with tyranny and oppression, with a fourth movement played as loudly as the orchestra can deliver.
