Walaa Al Jundi

For her first appearance in Montréal, Lebanese artist Walaa Al Jundi brings the richness of great Middle Eastern repertoires into dialogue with a modern interpretive approach. Her voice, both expansive and intimate, combines the discipline of the great masters of tarab with the freedom of visceral singing. Skilled in the subtle art of sung poetry, she reimagines classical works, breathing new passion into them and connecting memories of a golden age with today’s sensibilities.
