Caravanes du son celebrates the musical heritage of Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilizations between the Tigris and Euphrates. This musical odyssey brings together Omar Bashir and Jahida Wehbe, whose voice embodies both classical and contemporary Arabic poetic song. The two artists invite audiences to follow the paths of peoples, languages and instruments: from ancient caravans to modern diasporas, from Eastern modes to vocal ornamentation, and from nomadic rhythms to flamenco and Romani music.
