Jessie dearly loves her cousin Glenn, despite his eccentricities. Sheltered and overprotected by his mother, the young Torontonian has only one true passion: music. Demanding of himself and beset by habits and obsessions, Glenn Gould establishes himself in the classical music world through the inventiveness and energy of his piano playing. Away from the spotlight and recording studios, however, he remains a man filled with doubt. French playwright Ivan Calbérac offers an intimate portrait of the Canadian prodigy, both tender and critical, revealing the pianist through his relationships with loved ones, family and a handful of collaborators. Frédéric Bélanger directs Maxime de Cotret as Glenn Gould, alongside Danielle Proulx as his mother, Flora. Presented as part of the Hydro-Québec theatre evenings.
