Boulevard Pérusse

After entertaining French-speaking audiences with his albums and his work on radio and television, François Pérusse presents his first original play, in the tradition of boulevard comedy. Boulevard Pérusse follows a Quebec family that founded a multinational company inventing and manufacturing practically everything in an environmentally friendly way. When one of its factories is seized in a country ruled by a dictator, the company and Quebec’s Minister of Trade must respond. A visit from an employee who fled the country to alert the owners makes the urgency clear. Slamming doors, twisted wordplay, absurd situations, off-the-wall dialogue and characters appearing out of nowhere bring Pérusse’s distinctive style to the stage. One of the characters is not even human and is voiced by Pérusse himself. Featuring Édith Cochrane, Martin Héroux, Erich Preach, Marie-Ève Trudel, David-Alexandre Després and Philippe Racine. Directed by Hugo Bélanger.
