Four years after the release of Nature humaine, a tour of more than 100 sold-out shows and a nomination for Folk Album of the Year at the 2020 ADISQ Gala, Alexandre Poulin returns with La Somme des êtres aimés. On this sixth album, he embraces a more organic musical world steeped in nostalgia. A more song-driven personal exploration and sounds inspired by the 1970s—twelve-string guitars, pianos and flutes—combined with vocal harmonies breathe new life into his lyrics. At the heart of his work remains his distinctive ability to tell stories in just a few minutes. Poet, philosopher, storyteller and, in a former life, teacher, singer-songwriter Alexandre Poulin is a multifaceted artist who has followed his own path, away from the media spotlight. His desire to remain true to himself and his storytelling comes fully to life on stage, earning him a devoted audience and numerous awards in both Quebec and Europe.
