Sinem Kara

Sinem Kara presents Sultane, her first one-woman show. Sinem is the friend who makes you feel instantly at home: she grew up in her family’s pizzeria in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and loves to joke around. Working in the family restaurant, she unwittingly becomes the Sultana of the place, the Sultana of potatoes. From her throne, she observes the customers, her family and all the characters who would eventually inspire her comedy. With the stage as her throne, she shares her adventures through family anecdotes, culture clashes and observations of everyday life. Sensitive subjects are approached with frank, irreverent humour and plenty of self-deprecation, but always with humanity—because among friends, nothing is off-limits.
