Place des Arts | Cendrillon | Les Grands Ballets

Enthusiastically received when it was presented in 2023, this production returns to the stage. Inspired by both the Brothers Grimm’s and Charles Perrault’s celebrated tales, and set to Prokofiev’s vibrant music, choreographer Jayne Smeulders creates a poetic ballet where magic, humour and emotion intertwine. Living with a cruel stepmother and two jealous stepsisters, Cinderella grows up in the shadows, condemned to thankless chores and silent dreams. Yet a light remains within her: hope and the desire for a different destiny. When her fairy godmother appears, her life changes, drawing her into a world where anything is possible. With fairy-tale sets and glittering costumes, Cinderella unfolds through radiant, generous dancing, offering performers and audiences of all ages a journey beyond time.
