LABOUR

Raw, generous, unruly and celebratory, LABOUR is a direct and physically demanding work performed by five femme artists. Against a social backdrop of eroding rights and bodily surveillance, LABOUR asserts creation as an act of resistance. Raw, sweaty and absurd, the piece rejects aesthetic politeness to imagine a shared power that is both intimate and collective. Through simple yet unstable rhythms, the performers create a space for transformation and care. With its diverse cast, the work makes visible an often-erased form of labour: that of bodies that build, support and repair. Friction, repetition and duration become political as well as aesthetic tools. Following the success of Efer in 2023, PARTS+LABOUR returns to La Rotonde with a visceral, immediate and accessible experience, inviting audiences to become both witnesses and accomplices.
