Ballet Jörgen's Swan Lake

Imagine the haunting elegance of Swan Lake, but instead of a far-off European kingdom, the tragedy unfolds against the rugged, misty shores of the Fortress of Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. For Ballet Jörgen's 25th anniversary, the company's Artistic Director and CEO Bengt Jörgen re-visioned the classical and dramatic Swan Lake, adding a hint of Canadian heritage as is often a sign of his work. With breathtaking sets by Camellia Koo and authentic 17th-century costumes, the production marries world-class ballet with a distinct Canadian soul. It's the story you know and love, reimagined in a seascape that feels like home. Pure, traditional beauty, seen through a familiar Maritime lens.
