Ouverture jubilatoire pour la 20e édition du Festival Bach!

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Festival International Bach Montréal opens its anniversary edition with a festive programme bringing together two giants of the 18th century: Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel. John Butt, director of the Dunedin Consort, leads the Festival Orchestra in three landmark works of the Baroque repertoire. Bach’s Magnificat showcases the splendour of sacred choral writing, while Handel’s Water Music evokes the grandeur of the English royal court. Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 crowns the evening with its infectious energy and virtuosic dialogue among the strings.
