To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Antônio Carlos Jobim (Tom Jobim), the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal brings together four Brazilian artists and more than forty musicians at the Maison symphonique. Daniel Jobim, the maestro’s grandson, Joyce Moreno, Zé Renato and Mario Adnet—a singer, arranger and guitarist—bring to life selections from four major albums of Jobim’s later career: Matita Perê, Urubu, Terra Brasilis and Passarim. The program also features some of his most beloved songs, including Águas de Março, Wave, Tempo do Mar, Dindi and The Girl from Ipanema. An invitation to discover Jobim’s Brazil, its forests, rivers, birds, sadness and beauty.
