Voyage nordique avec Osmo Vänskä

Under the direction of Osmo Vänskä, Sibelius’s Karelia Suite unfolds like a northern landscape in this morning concert: winter clarity, pure lines and quiet fervour. Both simple and deeply evocative, the music breathes with nature and the Scandinavian spirit. In contrast, Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 2 takes us towards a more inward warmth: a dialogue of rare poetry between piano and orchestra, imbued with deeply human passion. In Garrick Ohlsson’s hands, each phrase conveys the composer’s tenderness and formal mastery. Between northern mists and the fire of Romanticism, music becomes breath and balance.
