Harry Manx Mystic Blues

20:00Salle Anaïs-Allard-RousseauTrois-Rivières

Harry Manx blends Indian classical music with blues from the southern United States in a musical world he calls “mysticssippi.” Born on the Isle of Man and raised in Canada, he refined his distinctive sound through travels in Europe, Japan, India and Brazil. In the mid-1980s, he began five years of study with Rajasthani master Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, who taught him to play the Mohan Veena, a sitar-guitar that became his signature instrument. Bringing together the blues tradition and the depth of classical Indian ragas, this versatile musician also plays sitar, banjo, harmonica and lap steel guitar, taking audiences into the “Harry Zone.”
