Le sillon de Cherif Kheddam

Le sillon de Cherif Kheddam: roots that carry the future On January 23, 2027, the anniversary of his passing and in the centenary year of his birth, École Mezghena de Montréal pays tribute to Chérif Kheddam. A composer, performer and teacher, he enriched Kabyle music by bringing tradition and modernity into dialogue. Committed to knowledge and passing it on, he nurtured young talent and encouraged women to take their full place in artistic life. Under the direction of Sid Ali Mohand Arab, more than 40 musicians will bring this legacy to life through works evoking motherhood, the land, exile and love. An evening of music and appreciation, with new generations continuing along the path he forged.
