Jean-Michel Blais

With mirador, Jean-Michel Blais moves away from minimalism toward an expansive, luminous work inspired by his childhood, travels and roots. Accompanied on stage by a trio of musicians, this musical odyssey blends piano, choirs, strings and Andean influences. It draws on the artist’s memories: his childhood refuge in Nicolet, his discovery of Latin American music, and his explorations in Latin America and Estonia. In this new show, Blais creates a rich world where dreams, memory and imagination intersect. Through evocative pieces such as “carnavalito,” “kyrie” and “granada,” mirador invites audiences to rediscover the wonder of childhood and explore their inner landscapes.
