Blue in history, art and design Long overlooked and undervalued, blue has undergone a profound transformation in its symbolic meaning over the centuries. Initially associated with sadness and marginality, it gradually became a prestigious colour linked to royalty, spirituality and serenity. From medieval religious art to modern explorations, including Klein Blue, its use reflects a rich and contrasting evolution that continues in contemporary creation. Presented as part of the exhibition Voir bleu (Collection Loto-Québec), this lecture by art historian Vincent Arseneau explores the history and aesthetics of this now universally appreciated colour. An activity presented in collaboration with the Bibliothèques de Trois-Rivières.
