Jessica Chartrand presents a work-in-progress version of her very first show, Nouvelle vieille. Throughout her life, she has often found herself facing a new version of herself, a fresh start or a new life. Always a little late to join a new project, she likes to hang on to the old one, take her time getting fed up and overanalyze whatever gets on her nerves. And that makes for good jokes! After a completely unclear academic path, a coming out that was obvious to everyone except her and a tumultuous string of anxiety-inducing jobs, she drops everything at 30 to start over. Nouvelle vieille is Jessica starting her dream job — late and already old: doing stand-up. Hurry to see her, though: even if she loves her new career, there’s no guarantee she won’t give it all up at 40 to start breeding finches on a massive scale.
