Silly Billy - The Chimera Project

Silly Billy celebrates the beauty of individuality in a unique show where First Nations traditions meet western dance and theatre. Billy, a rare white buffalo unhappy with his uniqueness, sets out to find the magical Unicorn in the hope of emulating this mythical creature. Through adventures, obstacles, misunderstandings and mishaps, he discovers his self-worth, embraces his difference and takes his place alongside the Unicorn as the legendary great white buffalo of the plains. Infused with Indigenous hoop dancing, powwow dance vocabulary, theatre, music, song, ballet, jazz, contemporary dance and hip hop, Silly Billy is a joyous journey of self-discovery. A Q&A explores the work’s cultural components and the distinctive dance and theatre forms used in the show.
