A Little Night Music with Mozart

The Pacific Baroque Orchestra, directed by Alexander Weimann, presents a programme of music for the evening, performed on period instruments. Mozart’s celebrated Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525, is paired with a lesser-known work from his earlier life in Salzburg, the Serenata notturna, K. 239. This eclectic programme also includes a fanciful quintet by Boccherini about 18th-century nightlife in Madrid, instrumental songs by Dowland and Purcell, and an intriguing night-watch tune by Austrian composer Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber in which the audience will participate.
