An Evening with Tommy Emmanuel, CGP

Presented by Paul Mercs Concerts, this concert features Tommy Emmanuel, hailed by NPR’s World Cafe as “one of the best acoustic guitarists in the world.” He began touring his native Australia with his family’s band at age six, became a sought-after session musician, and launched his solo career in 1979. Inspired in part by Chet Atkins, who would become his friend, mentor, and collaborator, Emmanuel has headlined venues from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall and collaborated with many of the guitar world’s greats. Recorded in just four days, his latest album, Living In The Light, fuses his pop, jazz, classical, and roots influences into a virtuosic collection as exhilarating as it is intimate. Performance length: 1 hour 40 minutes, with no intermission.
