La Florida

Thirty years after winning over Quebec movie audiences, La Florida takes to the stage. Léo Lespérance, his wife Ginette, their children and Pépère head to Hollywood Beach, convinced they have found paradise—until their dream sinks to the bottom of the pool. Demanding guests, intimidating neighbours and endless renovations: welcome to Motel Ginette, where the American dream gets a mouthful of salt water… and reality. Against a delightfully kitschy tropical backdrop, the film’s iconic lines return in a comedy as hilarious as it is touching, as sunny as it is cruel. Adapted from the cult 1993 film, winner of the Golden Reel Award for Quebec’s biggest box-office success, La Florida returns to the stage under the direction of Charles Dauphinais, featuring Louis Champagne, Anne-Élisabeth Bossé (Terrebonne), Tammy Verge (tour), Didier Lucien, Lauren Hartley, Gary Boudreault, Marc St-Martin and Joakim Robillard.
