Jean Poiret’s celebrated comedy comes to life in a Quebec adaptation by Sylvain Larocque and Joël Legendre, directed by Legendre. Set in Montreal’s Gay Village, the play follows Georges and Albin, owners of the cabaret “La Cage aux folles,” whose lives are turned upside down when their son announces his plans to marry the daughter of a conservative politician. Marcel Leboeuf and Alex Perron portray the famous couple in a cast of 12 performers. Rainbow, Michel Dorion, Tracy Trash and Nana immerse audiences in the cabaret’s eccentric world from the moment they arrive and throughout the evening. Audience members are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the show to enjoy the cabaret experience. Running time: 1 hour 45 minutes, including an animated intermission.
