Racontars arctiques

In the early 1950s, a handful of fearless hunters are scattered along Greenland’s northeastern coast. Isolation, loneliness, rationing and harsh weather can make it difficult to keep a cool head. Yet the splendour of vast expanses of snow and ice and these companions’ improbable stories inspire a thirst for adventure and freedom. Adapted from the work of Danish author Jørn Riel and books by illustrator Hervé Tanquerelle, Racontars arctiques brings together puppetry, storytelling, live music and sound effects in a world that is both poetic and hilarious, filled with humour and humanity. A production by La ruée vers l’or, co-produced with Théâtre de la Pire Espèce. A post-show discussion with the artists will follow the performance.
