With L’effet Lisa, Théâtre de l’Œil Ouvert presents a work of musical theatre inspired by the world of Richard Desjardins, bringing together poetry, memory and the urgency of the present. The show tells a fictional story in which le Bum, le Bon gars, la Femme de ménage, Jenny and Lisa come to life on stage. Desjardins’s songs appear in full, in excerpts or woven into the dialogue, alongside references to his documentaries and interviews. With the artist’s approval, Jade Bruneau has assembled and adapted his work, interweaving it with original text by Philippe Robert. A brief introduction precedes the show, and an optional moderated discussion follows the performance.
