AGAMEMNON IN THE RING LES CRÉATIONS UNUKNU

Agamemnon In The Ring reimagines the epic of the Trojan War in the world of wrestling. Written in alexandrine verse and featuring rock-opera songs and choreographed stage combat, the play blends the grandiose, the popular and the sacred. Agamemnon, king of Mycenae and a renowned wrestler, announces his retirement. At a gala attended by his entire family, he is inducted into the House of Mycenae Hall of Fame. But two young wrestlers unknown to the crowd disrupt the festivities and steal his National Legion belt, a gift from his brother Menelaus. Determined to defend his family’s honour, Agamemnon puts on his wrestling costume for one final, epic match! A brief introduction is planned before the show, and an optional moderated discussion is offered after the performance.
