Stéphane Archambault Point

No one expected it—not even him: Stéphane Archambault is returning to music. Back on stage for the first time since the end of his band Mes Aïeux, he goes solo with POINT, a show featuring 12 new songs alongside a few selected covers that echo or have influenced his own compositions. Stories of endings and new beginnings, of time and surroundings, unfold in a narrative arc: an update on who and where he is, speaking as “I” rather than “we.” Shaped by the golden age of French chanson, with phrasing that recalls traditional music, Archambault offers songs that are varied and generous, both reverent and a little rough around the edges. Intimate and contemplative, he strips away his layers to connect more closely with an audience he hopes will leave smiling. The show offers calm reflections on aging and shared challenges, as well as a lesson in humility for an artist returning to his audience. A first album is expected in the fall.
