Harmonie des opposées

Paradoxes, interweaving, light and shadow… Harmonie des opposés is a musical and emotional journey through the different forms of duality found in each piece. In the hands of Amélie Fortin and Marie Christine Poirier, Rachmaninoff and Gershwin meet Pärt and Stravinsky, alongside works by composers Julie Thériault and Hanna Kulenty and the premiere of a new work by Amélie Fortin. Performed by sensitive musicians who have made their mark on Quebec and international stages, the works unfold like living paintings. Inspired by the artists’ many travels and their love of visual art and cinema, the show grew out of creative residencies and a collaboration with lighting designer Julie Basse. These two accomplished Quebec musicians combine virtuosity with moving visual poetry. Duration: 75 minutes, without intermission.
