A performance of Ukrainian folk music reimagined by the Murmurosi quartet. Originally a duo featuring Natalia Telentso and Eli Camilo, Murmurosi gradually evolved into a quartet, deepening its sonic textures while preserving its central element: intimate vocal harmonies. Moving between collective folk singing and solo storytelling, the quartet draws on the communal power of polyphonic tradition while allowing each singer’s personality to emerge. Its harmonies evoke landscapes, memories and myths, blending ancestral ritual with personal expression. Based in Montréal, the artists explore Ukrainian polyphony and Eastern European songs in a dialogue between the old and new worlds, individual expression and collective tradition. Their work both honours their folk roots and explores the boundaries of vocal performance. Featuring Natalia Telentso, Eli Camilo, Joshua Greenberg and Emiliou Johnson. Duration: 75 minutes, without intermission.
