Violette & Jordan brings together an unexpected blend of jazz, folk, blues and pop. Violette’s distinctive approach as a singer and instrumentalist combines with Jordan’s guitar playing and velvety voice to create an organic and surprising sound. Their songs, in English and French, reflect their individual personalities and backgrounds, as well as the rich cultural diversity of their native Quebec. The interplay between Jordan’s acoustic and electric guitars and Violette’s piano and Wurlitzer is central to their music, alongside the harmony of their voices. Jordan began his career alongside jazz singer Susie Arioli, producing seven of their albums in a collaboration that took them around the world. Together, they sold more than 250,000 albums and earned a gold record and a gold DVD. Since launching his solo career in 2010, he has won several Félix awards for his albums. Violette is a singer-songwriter based in Sherbrooke, Quebec. She received the Prix Festival en Chanson de Petite-Vallée in 2017 and the Christian-Carbonneau scholarship during her music degree at the Université de Sherbrooke. She has released an album, several singles and an EP with her band LaViolette, and has toured and recorded with numerous folk-pop-indie artists as a keyboardist and backing vocalist.
