Step Afrika! – The Evolution Tour

Step Afrika! returns to Place des Arts with its brand-new show, The Evolution Tour. Celebrating more than 30 years of critically acclaimed performances, the company presents an explosion of South African rhythms and movement in a dazzling choreographic world. A world leader in stepping—a powerful percussive dance in which the body becomes an instrument—Step Afrika! pushes the boundaries of its art. The 18-member troupe combines songs, storytelling, humour and rhythmic dance. Its participatory performances invite audiences to get out of their seats and move to the beat of the percussion. Founded in South Africa in 1994 by C. Brian Williams, the company has performed in more than 60 countries and engages in educational programs reaching tens of thousands of young people.
