Donovan Woods

Toronto-based Donovan Woods blends folk, country, and pop into distinctive songs acclaimed for their candid, emotional relatability. Beyond the Juno-winner’s own music, he has written songs for Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Barenaked Ladies and many others. Albums such as his 2024 Polaris Prize-nominated Things Were Never Good If They're Not Good Now have been praised for their intriguing storytelling. And his voice is as remarkable as his lyrics: evocative and rich. Woods' latest release is the EP, Squander Your Gifts, released earlier this year, it is dedicated to his late friend Abe Stoklasa. Reflecting on loss, love, and living, the EP once again showcases Woods' gift for transforming deeply personal experiences into songs that resonate with listeners. Woods, who performs with a band at CapU Centre, continues to solidify his place as one of North America's most compelling songwriters—an unflinchingly honest artist who is never afraid to bare his soul.
